Randy L. Sego is an accomplished trial attorney with more than 25 years of legal experience, where he has conducted numerous successful trials in Colorado state and federal courts. In addition to his trial experience, Randy has appeared before various appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and he has advised individual and business clients on a wide range of legal matters.
Randy’s trial experience includes cases involving employment law, discrimination, wrongful termination, and alleged violations of state and federal laws, including claims under Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and various state statutes and common law claims. Among his many successful trials, Randy obtained defense verdicts against plaintiffs seeking multi-million-dollar awards for alleged economic damages and personal injuries.
Prior to private practice, Randy began his professional legal career in Colorado as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Charles D. Pierce of the Colorado Court of Appeals. This highly respected clerkship position allowed Randy to hone his legal research and writing skills, having drafted many published opinions.
After concluding his clerkship, Randy launched his career as a trial attorney and began litigating many types of cases. In addition to litigation, he has driven successful mediations and settlement agreements, and assisted his clients in achieving desired outcomes and results.
Randy has represented a variety of clients, including individuals and companies of all sizes. Some of his clients have been Fortune 500 companies litigating complex, multi-party matters involving billions of dollars. Other cases involved less money but were equally as important to Randy and his clients.
Prior to law school, Randy was an accomplished collegiate swimmer, having competed nationally and internationally. He received the high honor and designation of college All-American, which was awarded to him by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Randy also excelled academically in college and was named frequently to the Dean’s List.
In law school, Randy continued his academic success and graduated in the top 10% of his class from Valparaiso University School of Law. Randy was awarded the Wesemann Academic Scholarship and was selected to the Moot Court Team and the Mock Trial Team to compete nationally against other law schools. He also was selected to the Valparaiso University Law Review, where he served as Business Editor.
