Taylor Smith is an attorney admitted to practice in Colorado, focusing on insurance defense, employment law, and construction defect litigation. He began his career on the plaintiff side, representing individuals in personal injury and product liability cases, where he drafted demand packages, negotiated settlements, and analyzed complex medical and causation issues. After gaining significant experience advocating for his clients, Mr. Smith transitioned to defense to apply his litigation skills toward proactive risk management and strategic problem-solving for businesses and insurers. In this role, Mr. Smith defends insurers, businesses, and property owners in negligence-based claims as well as construction defect and other civil litigation matters.

Mr. Smith earned his J.D. from Vermont Law and Graduate School, where he served as an editor for the Vermont Law Review, competed on the National Environmental Moot Court Team, and was recognized as “Best Oralist” in Advanced Appellate Advocacy. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for Appellate Advocacy, mentoring students in persuasive writing and oral argument. During law school, he worked as a student attorney in the Environmental Advocacy Clinic and as a law clerk handling complex product liability cases. Before law school, Mr. Smith managed operations in the hospitality industry, developing leadership and organizational skills that inform his client-focused approach today. Outside the office, Mr. Smith enjoys attending concerts at Red Rocks, reading, performing and watching improv theatre, spending time with his two nieces, and exploring nature with friends through hiking and camping.
