Catherine Ricca Lanzano has more than ten years of experience in a wide range of employment matters. She has defended employers in agency proceedings and litigation, against allegations of discrimination based on gender, race, national origin, religion, and disability. Her work has involved claims of sexual harassment, reverse discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and state-law tort claims. She has also advised and defended clients in wage and hour disputes under federal and state law.
Catherine has advised employers on legal compliance and best practices in many settings. She enjoys assisting employers in solving problems and responding to day-to-day employment law questions and human resources issues. She has helped employers of all sizes develop personnel policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements.
Catherine is also an experienced workplace investigator. She has completed dozens of investigations into allegations of workplace misconduct, including discrimination, harassment, bullying, and dishonesty. Employers have also retained her to conduct broad assessments of their work environments to gain a better understanding of employees’ concerns, supervisors’ effectiveness, and workplace dynamics and morale.
Experienced in other areas of law as well, Catherine has defended and advised insurance carriers in coverage matters. She has also represented manufacturers of prescription medications and medical devices, and has represented corporations in commercial contract and franchise disputes.
